Niamiah Branch

December 2023 Academic Outstanding Student

Niamiah Branch is a sophomore majoring in Food, Nutrition & Exercise with a CGPA of 3.48. Originally from Raleigh, North Carolina, He lives with his mother, and he is the youngest of 4 children. Niamiah says that the best thing about being a black male at Virginia Tech is being able to take advantage of all the opportunities that is available on campus. Also, he feels a sense of pride because he is able to represent his race positively.

Niamiah aspires to be a professional trainer and nutritionist, he also wants to go into physical therapy. His career goal is to become successful enough so that he can open his own gym and spend his time there.

Niamiah is a part of Ujima, an LLC at Virginia Tech, and he says his role model is David Goggins, because he has a sense of discipline and humility. Also, David Goggins is usually honest with himself and is his biggest critic. During his free time, he likes to work out and run, and do things that are difficult but beneficial for his health.
