Charles F. McKeller Jr.

February 2023 Academic Outstanding Student

Charles F. McKeller Jr. is from Gloucester, Virginia. He is a junior with a major in meteorology and a minor in music. He has a 3.43 GPA. He says the best thing about being a black male student at Virginia Tech is the opportunity to connect and make friends with others who look like him and share similar interests. Charles’ post-Virginia Tech aspiration is to become a broadcast meteorologist and his personal dream is to become a meteorologist and musician. Charles’ role model is his grandmother because she partly raised him and inspired him in music. He says, his grandmother plays piano and has been doing so for over 50 years.

Charles is currently affiliated with Phi Sigma pi where he serves in the J-Board position, and he is a member of Chi Epsilon Pi, the Meteorological Honors Society. During his free time, he listens to music at the Duck Pond, as well as play tennis.
