Kimuchu Kibue

December 2023 Academic Outstanding Student

Kimuchu Kibue is a senior and his major is cognitive and behavioral neuroscience with a double major in psychology. He has a CGPA of 3.75. He says the best thing about being a black male student at VT is the connection and sense of camaraderie on the VT campus among the back male community. He has been shown genuine care and fellowship by the black male community at VT, which has made his college experience one to remember. Kimuchu’s post VT aspiration is to get into a research lab pursuing knowledge in a topic he is interested in and to persue his master’s and later a Ph.D. His career dream is to start his own research lab that studies consciousness to try and determine how humans developed consciousness and which brain areas contribute to that.

Kimuchu says his role model is his mother as she is his biggest inspiration in life. Her strength, courage, and determination allowed him to get through tough times and eventually let him go to college at a prestigious institution like Virginia Tech. In his free time, he likes to play video games, watch Youtube, Netflix and anime and play soccer. He also likes to make music.
