February 2023 Academic Outstanding Student
Xzavier Q. Gallop is from Norfolk, Virginia. His major is History and Social Science Education with a GPA of 3.58 and he absolutely loves to learn about Black History and wants to teach that knowledge to his future students. Xzavier says that the best thing about being a black male student at Virginia Tech is that he is able to represent his family lineage by achieving a high GPA and by generally doing well in college. His post-Virginia Tech aspiration is to teach in schools around Virginia or to delve into politics. His personal dream is to become a household name across the United States by teaching true Black History in the United State while simultaneously not allowing people to co-op that history to suit their own personal goals His career dream is to become a voice for Black America and to represent them in congress so that we can get agendas passed that will specifically help the black community.
Xzavier’s role model is Tariq Nasheed because he speaks truth to power about the issues within the Black Community and he gives logical solutions to fix his community in a constructive manner. Xzavier is affiliated with the Student Ambassador for the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences and during his free time, he watches shows from all streaming platforms and hangs out with friends.
