Kenyon Gregory Jr.

February 2023 Academic Outstanding Student

Kenyon Gregory Jr. is from Danville, Virginia, and is a senior majoring in Sports Media and Analytics with a GPA of 3.6. He is currently a reporter, anchor, and videographer for VT TV, and serves as one of the social chairs for the Transfer Experience LLC. Kenyon says that the best thing about being a black male student at Virginia Tech is that it provides him the opportunity to meet people that look like him and share similarities. By joining the Black Students Alliance, he is able to meet some cool people he considers family. His post-Virginia Tech aspiration is to receive an internship at a TV station in the Greensboro, NC area or find a social media job with a minor-league baseball team. Kenyon’s long-term goal is to be an anchor for ESPN SportsCenter and to be a host for one of their weekly shows, such as “Get Up” and maybe get to lead coverage for a major event such as the NFL Draft, and he says Steve Harvey is his role model and he listens to his radio show almost every morning and takes note of the inspirational quotes and lessons he teaches about.

Kenyon is affiliated with Virginia Tech Union, Black Student Alliance, MAOP, Virginia Tech Television, and Internship with VT Football’s Office of Player Engagement. During his spare time, He enjoys listening to all kinds of music and running on the Huckleberry Trail. He supports the Pittsburgh Steelers.
