Jessica Whisenhunt is the administrative assistant at the Student Success Center. She assists with supporting all departmental operations, assisting with our peer education program, planning departmental events, and emergency response coordination. Though she was raised in upstate New York and Northern Virginia, Jessica has enthusiastically embraced the New River Valley as her home, and is honored to be a part of the Virginia Tech community.
Jessica is new to academia, but has several years of administrative and office management experience. She has previously worked in insurance and most recently managed a local shipping store, where she encountered many people associated with Virginia Tech, and was drawn to their shared adherence to the school motto, Ut Prosim. Throughout her life, she has tried to emphasize service to others through various avenues of volunteering and charity, and wished to work somewhere that also held this value at heart.
When not at work, Jessica enjoys cooking, baking, gardening, hiking, and listening to music. She is always happy to share homemade baked goods or fresh picked vegetables, whenever possible, with anyone who might ask.
