Menase Yirdaw

Menase Yirdaw is a Junior majoring in Computer Science with a GPA of 3.52 at Virginia Tech, expecting to graduate in May 2025. With a strong foundation in programming languages such as Java, C, Python, and RiscV assembly, Menase is enthusiastic about contributing to innovative projects and deepening his understanding of the software development process. His future career interests lie in embedded systems and software development.
Menase's academic achievements include receiving the Computer Science Resources Consortium Scholarship and multiple Dean’s List recognitions for academic excellence. He is proficient in a wide array of computer science disciplines, including C, Java, JavaScript, Python, CSS, HTML, RiscV/x86 Assembly, and Node.js, with additional skills in Adobe Creative Suite, Electrical Circuit Engineering, and Computer Engineering. Menase is actively working on "Green Prints," a web application that utilizes Microsoft Azure Vision API and OpenAI's API to assess environmental impacts. He is also the creator of "Sunset Prediction," a website that employs various APIs and algorithms to forecast sunset qualities. Additionally, he maintains a dynamic and responsive personal portfolio website, which showcases his professional photography—a passion that complements his technical skills.
