Hi, I'm Ara! I'm currently a Junior majoring in Biology, and I'm minoring in German and Chemistry. I tutor BIOL 1106 and 2004, CHEM 1055, 1036, 2535 and I especially love CHEM 1055 and CHEM 1036 because I enjoy the problem solving that comes with chemistry.
My approach to tutoring is patient, with a focus on simplifying challenging concepts and reviewing homework and test questions. I'm strongest at helping students with word problems and concept based questions.
Outside of academics, I volunteer throughout Blacksburg with Alpha Phi Omega. I became a tutor because I like teaching and helping my community
When we work together, you can expect me to ask if there are specific topics or assignments you have trouble with. Then, I would ask to see any notes or work you've done. Finally, I would talk through the concepts with you and try some practice problems.
