Hi, my name is Michael Power! I am a senior majoring in Biochemistry and Clinical Neuroscience while applying to dental school. The subjects I tutor include CHEM 1035/1036/1045/1046/2535, BIOL 1105/1106/1115/1116 and NEUR 2025.
My approach to tutoring is to understand which strategies allow you to learn most effectively and then utilize them to ensure you can grasp and apply the material. I am strongest when it comes to helping students breakdown word problems and come up with a repeatable process to solve them.
Outside of tutoring, I really enjoy fitness, golf, hiking and watching football. I became a tutor because I wanted the oppurtunity to help students to build confidence in their academic abilities by teaching them new ways to learn and apply material.
When we work together, we will start the session by talking about your current understanding of course material and how you got to that place. After that, we will get to work on the material and talk about study stratgies to help you get a better grasp on future material.
