Hi, I'm Elise! I'm a junior studying biological sciences, and I tutor biology and organic chemistry. My favorite topic is cellular energetics, mostly because it is fun to learn by drawing it out and watching the whole process come together on paper.
My approach to tutoring is patient and adaptive. I meet students where they are and ask guiding questions since that is what helps content stick. Sessions are hands on. We look over your notes and work through practice questions from your class materials together. I am strongest at breaking difficult concepts into simpler terms and tying them to real world examples.
Outside of academics, you will probably find me making my daily matcha or coffee. I became a tutor to give back to my community of Hokies. When we work together, you can expect help clarifying concepts and working through new questions side by side.
