Hi! My name is Lee, and I'm a senior majoring in polymer chemistry. I am incredibly passionate about organic chemistry. Fittingly, I tutor the organic chemistry for non-majors classes at VT (CHEM 2535 and 2536).
I like to approach teaching these subject from a more fundamental view than is often recommended- instead of memorizing flashcards, I think it's important to learn how and why the underlying chemistry works, and build more complex understanding from there. Organic chemistry doesn't have to be a scary subject, and I think that it can even be fun. I hope that I can convince you of this as well.
I became a tutor because my dream job is to teach chemistry, and getting to help people with my favorite subject brings me joy. I have been a teaching assistant for the organic chemistry classes at VT for a year now, so I am well-versed with the curriculum and how to prepare for the tests. I look forward to working with you!
