Alyssa Henderson is an Assistant Director in Career and Professional Development (CPD) at Virginia Tech and the Program Manager for the Peer Career Advisor (PCA) Program. During her undergraduate career at Iowa State University, she held roles as a peer career coach and Honors Program peer leader and attributes both of those experiences as key turning points in her own leadership and professional development. Alyssa also served as a coach for a peer leadership course during her graduate studies at Kent State University. She believes in the value of peer-to-peer learning and enjoys leading the development of peer educators through training and team-building. Alyssa is excited to bring together and connect with other Virginia Tech professionals who coordinate peer programs through the Peer Education Community of Practice.

Alyssa has served as the CPD representative for Peer Education Programs (PEP) since the launch of the initial work group in January 2023 and continues to support the Peer Education Academy training and module development.
