Lauren Thomas joined Virginia Tech in December 2013 advising University Studies students and coordinating peer mentor training for the University Studies first year experience course, UNIV 1824. Now she serves as director of academic advising initiatives, working with students in transition between majors and supporting colleagues who run transfer peer mentor programs, teaching assistants for multiple first year experience courses and advising ambassadors to help support students’ transition and success at Virginia Tech.

Lauren will be supporting the Peer Education Program Community of Practice by helping facilitate meetings and supporting the Community of Practice Canvas.
