Matt Ebert

Director - Office for Learning Partnerships

Matt Ebert headshot

Matt Ebert has been a member of the Virginia Tech community since 2013, first as a graduate student and then as a professional staff member in the Division of Student Affairs. Since then, Matt has continued to work in roles that center student learning, collaboration, and team-based decision-making. For six years, Matt was the Program Director of the Studio 72 Living-Learning Community where he applied a peer-education based leadership model, coaching students toward taking active ownership and shared responsibility to create an inclusive, dynamic community of artists. In this role, Matt empowered students to share their knowledge and expertise through teaching, learning, and mentoring opportunities with their peers in the community. An interesting byproduct of this role was developing expertise in facilitating workshops and training with students, faculty, and staff.

Now in his role as Director in the Office for Learning Partnerships, Matt delivers numerous trainings, seminars, and workshops each year around Gallup CliftonStrengths, facilitation, and ExperienceVT. Matt holds a bachelor's degree in Studio Art from Longwood University and a master's degree in Higher Education Administration from Virginia Tech. These days, Matt is increasingly curious about how leadership happens best, how to practice creative thinking, and the longitudinal nature of relationships. Matt currently serves as the Director of the Office for Learning Partnerships in Student Affairs.
