Call for Proposals

10th Annual Uplifting Black Men Conference

Workshop Criteria

Conference Focus: Our primary goal is to empower Black Male college and high school students for social and community development.

Workshop Duration: 30 minutes

Audience: We are calling for proposals that specifically cater to the needs of Black male college and high school students, as these are our conference's primary focus.

Workshop Objectives

  • Empowerment: Two Options
    • Option #1: Expose students to experiential learning (study abroad, internship, undergraduate research, etc.) or personal development (physical, intellectual, spiritual, financial, etc.) opportunities and help them reflect on ways these opportunities can enhance their educational experience.
    • Option #2: Equip participants with practical tools and strategies to connect their educational experiences with impactful social and community development initiatives. The expected outcome is that participants can apply these tools and strategies in their communities or society.
  • Interactivity: We seek proposals that foster an engaging environment, encouraging participation, discussion, collaboration, and reflection among attendees.

  • Resource Connection: We expect proposals to ensure participants leave with concrete ways to connect with available resources, including a sign-up sheet or QR code for appointments and consultations.
