Presidential Scholarship Initiative

The Virginia Tech Presidential Scholarship Initiative (PSI) is a competitive scholarship program designed to offset the costs of college for eligible in-state Virginia high school students.
How to Apply & Eligibility
There is no separate application process. Instead, when you complete your first FAFSA as a high school senior, you are automatically considered for this scholarship.
Eligibility is based on Virginia residence, strength of academic record, first-generation status, and a preference for Pell eligibility. If you are interested in this scholarship opportunity and you meet the requirements, the best way to increase your eligibility is to earn a strong high school GPA and demonstrate your leadership potential in your application to VT.

Embracing inclusivity, we support every student by promoting self-awareness, community engagement, and continuous learning. PSI aims to establish a supportive environment for students to realize their aspirations, such as being the first in their family to graduate from college.
